LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA

REQUIREMENTS: We are offering 1 or more positions depending on skills sets and availability. The position will begin September 2011 and end December 2011. Experience in digital media game design required. Position open to upper-level students or bachelor-level graduates. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively regarding work scope and timelines with the team is required. We prefer someone who is creative and willing to bring new ideas to the team to further game development.

Adobe Flash position:

  • Experience using Adobe Flash to build Rich Internet Applications
  • Fluent in Flash timeline based animations
  • Experience using ActionScript 3
  • Adobe Flex experience is a plus
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JAVASCRIPT

Graphics position:

  • Adobe CS5 Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro
  • Experience using Adobe Flash is a plus

DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to expand a psycho-educational game (“Coping Coach”) to teach children how to cope with traumatic events such as injuries, fires, or medical illnesses. The initial story line and world have been developed and built. Current developers available to transition project. Hours are flexible. Weekly team meetings are required.
COMPENSATION: $35-45/ hour depending on skills and experience. 30-35 hours/ week September 2011- December 2011. This position can be one position (including adobe flash and graphics together) or divided into 2 positions.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 2 – 3 years+ experience building and maintaining an institutional web site, from graphics development to HTML implementation including experience with social media, viral and word-of-mouth online marketing practices. Comprehensive technical understanding of HTML including forms, tables, and frames. Strong working knowledge in HTML, all aspects of Adobe Creative Suite including Dreamweaver, Java, CGI. Experience with JavaScript (VBScript and PERL a plus). Web server software and hardware administration and maintenance.

Knowledge of desktop equipment and hardware and networking software/hardware protocols. In-depth knowledge of Social Media Tools and Techniques. Able to demonstrate previous ability to build and improve social media programs with top social media sites and tools. Ability to lead, manage, and participate in cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and on several website projects concurrently. Knowledge of University and Alumni Relations programs, policies, and procedures. Excellent project management and writing skills. Proven ability to manage several tasks concurrently, continually setting priorities on emerging requirements and changing timelines. Knowledge of online public relations strategy. Participates in social media sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) and strong understanding of current and emerging social media channels. PR event management experience helpful. Solid understanding of web metrics. Ability to execute a number of parallel tasks and work with cross-functional teams. Positive, self-starter attitude and desire to exceed at every opportunity. Passion for building and launching new technologies Ability to provide creative direction.

DUTIES: Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations in Marketing and Communications, manage the Penn Alumni website and related social networking tools to advance strategic goals and priorities. Design, develop, coordinate, and maintain Alumni Relations web pages utilizing online graphic and production tools. Assist with website overview to adapt to new University graphic standards. Ensure website content is accurate, dynamic, easy to access and valuable to user, and consistent look and feel of all pages. Work with Alumni Relations staff to develop marketing plans for online services and create effective plans for promoting services. Drive the creative implementation of new ideas on the Alumni Relations Web site and for the QuakerNet, Penn’s online alumni community. Write and develop manual for best web practices for Alumni Relations pages. Stay abreast and learn new developments in web technologies and social networking trends as they arise. Coordinate efforts and work closely with Development and Alumni Relations Marketing and Communications (DARMAX) and the Office of University Communications to insure uniformity and strategic compatibility of messaging across the web site.

COMPENSATION: Between $30,000-$50,000, depending on experience.

Free People, a boutique lifestyle fashion brand under the Urban Outfitters, Inc. umbrella, is hiring for a Loyalty Marketing Analyst position. This role will reside within the Free People Direct Marketing team and will be critical in building and executing a unique and innovative program that reflects the brand. The program is intended to drive revenue, while increasing customer activation and engagement, reducing churn and improving customer loyalty. Currently, in its initial design phase, this position will be largely responsible for helping to both technically and creatively build a program from the ground up in collaboration with the Marketing and CRM team.

The role requires a smart, enthusiastic, self-sufficient person to join our team to outline the underlying mechanics of a program, as well as grow and manage the program following launch. Candidates will be exposed to and have access to the best of breed ecommerce, CRM, and mobile and game systems with which to make their vision a reality.

The individual must exhibit excellent analytical skills, strong creativity, and flawless attention to detail across analytical, project management, and loyalty marketing areas.  The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, great creative instincts, and experience in digital media, gaming, and direct marketing. 

Principle Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Work with the marketing, ecommerce, and IT teams to establish framework and execution of a loyalty program
  • Coordinate the development of the program, understanding technical system interactions and documenting requirements
  • Manage all documentation and deliverable timeline throughout creation and launch of program
  • Work with team to develop marketing/communication strategies to maximize results
  • Manage loyalty marketing campaign development and execution
  • Identify customer insights through data mining and report building, surveys, and direct communication with loyalty members
  • Provide post execution analysis of campaigns
  • Manage vendor relationship communications and campaign execution

Required Knowledge / Skills:

  • College/University degree (BS) in Computer Science, Digital Media, Marketing or similar field
  • 2+ years of applicable employment, or examples of research or coursework in applicable areas of interest
  • Experience with a wide range of marketing channels including email & direct mail, social media, catalog, and mobile
  • Gaming, digital media experience, or affinity and understanding of game-based and loyalty marketing preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in customer insights/data mining; SQL skills desired
  • Strong analytical skills and report building capabilities
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Fluency with gaming and game mechanic trends and terminology in the web, mobile and social channels highly desired
