Computer Camp Instructor
POSITION: Lead Instructor – Academy for Programming. Programming Camp with Python, C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
OVERVIEW:
DMA’s Academy for Programming provides students with a 2-week hands-on programming experience. Attendees will learn Python and C++, two of the most powerful programming languages for game design and application development. Students will use Microsoft Visual Studio .NET as they explore variables, loops, functions, artificial intelligence and more – all while creating a series of fun projects and games to challenge classmates and friends. We are looking for instructors with experience programming in both Python and C++. The ideal candidate for this job will also have experience and a passion for working with kids/teens.
DATES: July 26-August 6, 2010 (Monday – Friday).
PAY: $2,500.00 – $3,500.00 based on qualifications and experience.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead instructional portion of the Academy for Programming
2. Work with DMA-provided curriculum and resources to provide a fun and rewarding experience for students
3. Work with students in a hands-on, leader-led format as well as one-on-one
4. Work with students to help them successfully design, build, program their projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Teaching experience. Preferably with students ranging from 13-17 years old, highly preferred
2. Proficiency with Python (or similar programming language) and C++
3. Strong technical understanding of PC and/or Macintosh computers and their respective operating systems

Current development efforts include mobile games, several large Drupal-based websites, interactive timelines, Flash-based learning activities and game simulations. REQUIREMENTS:

DUTIES: Day to day responsibilities include working with our design and development team to conceive of and execute on the conversion of wireframe design treatments into working websites. The ideal candidate would have a strong knowledge of Drupal theme and module development, as well as other Web-based coding (HTML, CSS, Javascript), but also have a desire to learn new technologies. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to be part of an experienced, award-winning design and development team.
