Project Brief

Project Summary:

The website is created to gather articles from all over the internet and put links to them in one, easily accessible, place. The current site, although brings many links to articles together, is unorganized and difficult to navigate. Our goal is to reorganize the information on the webpage in a more visually pleasing way that will allow users to access information faster.

Audience Profile:

This website is pointed towards anyone interested in world news. Usually people between the ages of 18 and 35 are found to be more interested in such news. The visitor will perform the same actions on the new site, as the old site. They will access information and news articles about places all over the world.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:

They should appreciate the new design because it will make it easier for them to find specific articles. They like all the information they can find but it’s hard to find specific articles. Some adjectives that can be used to describe the website are informative, cutting-edge, and professional. It should look like a professionally constructed site dedicated to informing the public.

Communication Strategy:

By improving the interface of the website through customer feedback we will meet our measurable goals of increasing the amount of viewers. Two stages are Style and Completion. We will measure the success of the redesigned site by the percentage of increased viewership.

Competitive Positioning:

Our site is simple and easy to use for the older generation who cannot comprehend the complicated “digg” or otherwise websites. This site is concentrated to be able to be used by all people and have a huge diverse audience.
